Chasing Fallen Flowers

In the World of Cultivation, every cultivator is taught to hold the Dao close to their heart, never allowing fleeting emotions, especially love between men and women, which were considered distractions from the great path. Least of all, a love that was never returned.

At one point, I wanted to look back, just once, to catch a faint glimpse the memories that would haunt me for the rest of my life.

My heart would twist and turn into shapes of its own, looking back to see if he ever took another look at me. Back then, everyone would shake their heads, telling me to let go of everything I felt for him. Sometimes they even called me pathetic and perhaps they were right.

Still, I would find myself stealing quiet glances at his smiling face. It felt like the ray of unmatched warmth, like a landscape too beautiful to fully grasp.

Such is the beauty of the Cultivation World.
