In May 2002, the Wilkerson family moved from California to Hawkins, Indiana due to Hal getting a new job there. The family wasn't entirely thrilled about it, especially the kids. Considering they've lived there their entire lives. Malcolm was leaving his friends, but Reese? He wasn't really leaving anybody. He didn't have any friends, unfortunately. So, it wasn't a big deal. Reese was just hoping he'd find friends, one way or another. Lois told him not to bully anybody, but that's probably not going to last. His neighbor on the other hand, Will Byers, has a big group of friends. Will's mom, Joyce, tells Will to go greet the new neighbors. That exact day, changes everything in Reese's life, for the better.
