Once upon a time, a beautiful prince fell in love with one of his servants. He decided that one day, when he took the throne, he would have the girl to be his queen. However, this servant girl dreaded the day, for she secretly despised and distrusted royalty, so to prevent this from happening, she arranged herself a marriage with a local farm boy, in which they quickly fell in love the first time they met.

Meanwhile, the prince had also an arrangement with a neighboring princess to meet before their engagement. He didn't want to marry her, and she didn't want to marry him. However, the princess didn't know how to break it to him.

So in order to get her way, she found the servant girl, and in exchange for one wish, she asked her an odd and strange favor...

The prince begged for forgiveness, but it was too late - for she could see there was no love in his heart. The enchantress cursed the prince, transforming him into a hideous beast - and if he was unable to learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal from the rose she offered had fallen, he would remain a beast forever. But the enchantress also placed the curse upon his innocent castle staff, who were transformed into antiques; suffering for the prince's mistake(s) in small, rusting, metallic bodies. Life was hard enough for the staff, but now - it was unbearable. ~ This story will go through the staff's struggles before, DURING, and after they were cursed. It will also fill plot holes and extend the ending of Beauty And The Beast. A majority of this story is a prequel, and will fall into a bit of a sequel as well, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
