Waking up to find out you're the only girl with over fifty boys around you wasn't the problem, at least not for Emery. Being stuck in the Glade, a labyrinth surrounded by walls made as a maze on the other hand was. Not to mention she's stuck there with a boy who absolutely despises her, personality and everything. She doesn't know why, nor why he seems familiar, a gut feeling knotting in her chest.

Gally doesn't know why she's here, how she wound up with a beating heart, blood still pumping through her veins. He hates it. She wasn't supposed to be here, with the Gladers. With him. But now, the both of them are stuck in the proximity of each other, and it seems Emery has only brought trouble with her after going up in the box.
