The passenger

I wasn't supposed to stop.
It was late. The road was empty.
He was just... standing there.
No car. No phone. No reason to be there.
I told myself I was helping.
I told myself it was nothing.
But the moment he got into my car...
everything changed.
He doesn't tell me where we're going.
He doesn't answer my questions.
And the worst part?
He already knows my name.
I should have kept driving.
I shouldn't have stopped.
