Octavia Goldenstrike, an orphaned multipotent Shard, is left to navigate life itself as she journeys through discovering her own fragments. Everything changes when Shards seem to be multiplying, and turning against one another.

Her world flips on its axis when she meets a mysterious, and wealthy, man who seems to take a special interest in her whereabouts. Octavia believes in "eat the rich" and wants absolutely nothing to do with an enemy of the lower-class people.

Sworn to protect the commonfolk of her class, she must battle her undeniable feelings for the mysterious man, and the battle against her own kind.
