I found a little boy whose eyes were telling stories.
Stories of grief, pain, loneliness.
His eyes mirrored mine.
I took him in became his guardian, his protector, his provider and most importantly, his family.

For a long time, it was just us....Us against the world.
We learned how to survive, then, slowly... how to live.

The broken child I found grew stronger, quieter, sharper.
And somewhere along the way something changed.

I was supposed to protect him not lose myself in him.
But he wasn't that child anymore.
Not the one I had found, not the one who needed saving.

He became someone who chose.

And what he chose...

was me.
