The Wildfire and the Hearth

"You are the scourge of mankind, and yet I love you."

Caius Montaigne is, to put it lightly, perfect. He's the strongest of his generation, on track to be a reputable academic, and a future Head of Manor Montaigne. Better yet, he already has the heart of Eleni, his girlfriend and the perfect candidate to be his Rib (the wife of a Head).

On the other hand, Isokrates Hume is a mess. He can barely control his temper, he's incredibly envious of anyone who can outperform him, and a self-resenting upcoming politician. He would do anything to save himself, even at the expense of the world.

By chance, the two are thrown together, and quickly become fast friends. They are inseparable. But, as time goes on and they get closer, Caius begins to realize that he doesn't quite fit the mold he has no choice but to squeeze into, even if it means cutting away pieces of himself. To complicate matters further, Isokrates is not quite understanding of his predicament, and implores Caius to follow his heart rather than his head, which ironically involves giving up his future as Head.

Caius must choose.
Does he want the life he's made for, or the one he's meant for?
