SHARPSTONED 1 - Two Worlds

Julie has had the same dream every night of her life.
A black forest. Obsidian spires. Her name being whispered into stone.
She has been told it is anxiety. Trauma. The mind grieving parents she barely remembers. She has believed this for nineteen years.

Then the dream takes her.

On the night of her twenty-third birthday, Julie crosses into a world she has dreamed about her whole life - a world of stone halls and old magic, of two warring factions divided by a curse, of a hidden organization called the Veil that takes her in without explaining why. She does not know that she was born in this world. She does not know what is buried beneath the forest she dreams of, or what has been waiting for her there.
And she does not know why the cold-eyed man who runs the Veil watches her like she is a ghost. Why he is harsh with her in front of others and softer than he means to be when no one is looking. Why his mouth moves silently when the wandering musicians play a ballad about a soldier and the girl he died for - a song hundreds of years old, that was already her name when it was written.

Some prophecies are gifts. This one was a goodbye.
