The Eight Rule - There was never a way out...

Eight Grade 11 students stay back at school for what should have been an ordinary day.
By the time they realize something is wrong, it's already too late to leave.
The building doesn't change all at once. It's slower than that. Subtle enough to doubt. Doors feel different. Time doesn't move the way it should. Silence stretches longer than it's supposed to.
At first, they try to treat it normally.
They joke. They argue. They wait.
But as days pass-though no one can clearly say how many-the outside world stops responding, and the school becomes the only thing that feels real.
Food runs low. Sleep becomes uneven. Small disagreements turn sharper. And the space between them starts to matter more than the space around them.
Each of them handles it differently.
Some observe. Some deny. Some try to hold everyone together. Some begin to pull away.
And somewhere between fear, routine, and exhaustion, unexpected bonds begin to form-quiet, unspoken, and complicated.
There are moments that don't make sense.
Things that shouldn't be there.
Things that shouldn't repeat-but do.
And slowly, the question shifts from "What is happening?" to something harder to face:
"Are we still the same people we were before this started?"
It's not just about surviving the school.
It's about surviving each other...
and whatever the school is slowly turning them into.
