She was supposed to live a quiet life... or at least survive one. Born into 1959 with a mind that never quite fit the time, (name) learns early that the world she's in doesn't bend for girls like her. It presses, molds, corrects. A strict father, a watchful mother, three sisters who each pull her in different directions... and a house full of love that still feels too small for who she is.

Then there's Michael.

Just a boy at first. Skinny, soft-spoken, standing awkwardly in her yard asking if he can sit with her while she draws. He becomes her escape without either of them realizing it, late afternoons filled with music, cartoons, and dreams about flying far away from rules they don't understand. While the world begins shaping him into something bigger through the Jackson 5, (name) is the only place where he doesn't have to perform.

But what starts as childhood comfort doesn't stay that simple.

Michael grows, but he doesn't let go. Where she sees memories, he sees a future already decided. He talks about marriage like it's fact, about children like they already exist, about her like she's always been his. And the more the world pulls him away, the tighter he holds onto the one person who knew him before all of it.
