In the Fae kingdom of Arcana, an 12 year old girl's life changes, when her mother, Calypso, dies. When she soon becomes responsible for another death (her father, Cedric) at 14, she's orphaned and alone, not knowing what is ahead of her.
When she is 19 she must compete in the Soulless trials, where she must choose if reputation and brutality is the way to survive or if love and trust is the way to live.
In this world of survival and brutality, there are far more evils, as the king plans to experiment and control the fae criminals.
