Mexico City, December 11, 2002. Alba Luna Cuautli, a skeptical psychology student, and Xavier Ortega, a reserved Spanish scholar, find their lives forever entwined when a mystical earthquake at the Tepeyac hill shatters the boundaries of time. Pulled through a rift of ancient whispers, they emerge in June 1718-a world of rigid castes, Inquisitional shadows, and untamed nature.
