My name is Rose Scott. I'm 28 years old, and I live in London-a city that feels both too big and too small when your life starts to unravel.

Not long ago, I thought I had everything figured out. I had a relationship with Noah... or at least I thought I did. Then I found out about Daisy, and everything I believed about love just fell apart in one moment I can't seem to forget.

Since then, I've been trying to rebuild myself quietly-piece by piece-while still showing up to work every day at one of the most demanding companies in the city. My boss is Ebenezer Scrooge. He's brilliant, intimidating, and impossible to ignore. People talk about him like he's untouchable, like he's made of stone and money and ice.

And yet... there are moments I can't explain. Moments where he looks at me like I matter more than I should.

I don't know what will happen next, or if anything will happen at all.

But I do know this: my life isn't where it used to be, and it's definitely not where I expected it to go.
