Katherine Anderson has accepted that trust doesn't come easily, or sometimes at all. After her mother left 5 years ago, she has locked herself up an thrown away the key. 

In her new town she just wants a fresh start. She starts with a new look and then a new outlook on people...and not the best kind at that. She wants to take risks so she does, earning her a new reputation and some unwanted attention. What happens when she's forced to trust the people who made her the way she is?
Along with that she meets James. James Kross. In all honesty she's not sure what to think of him so she just pretends to think what the rest do, but what happens when she slips up and let's her true thoughts be known. James doesn't know what to think of Kate. He's not sure if he should trust her or dub her like all of the other girls he's met. But slowly they both become more intrigued with each other.
