Julian Huntington and his girlfriend Vivienne 'Vivi' Saint-Claire had a baby in September of 1984. Vivi handed that baby to her boyfriend, had her father push her out of the hospital, and never looked back.
Lorelai Gilmore had her daughter in October of 1984, with her best friend Julian Huntington holding her hand.
Naturally, Marlowe and Rory were built in best friends. But in the summer of '85, their parents packed them into the Jeep Julian was in the middle of fixing and left the high-society, high-comfort homes of Hartford for a small potting shed in Stars Hollow.
By the time the girls are 16 their little family are staples in their home town. Lorelai had worked up to executive manager at the inn, Julian was the town's handyman and worked with Gypsy at the car shop.
But then Rory and Stevie (formerly Marlowe) get accepted into Chilton, the girls meet new people (and their first boyfriends). And then Luke Dane's nephew moves to town.
And suddenly Stars Hollow isn't as drama free and quiet as it once was.
