Seventeen-year-old, Liora Hale, is sent to live in a remote village, Clare Brooke View, after surviving a "nervous breakdown" no one will fully explain to her. The village is idyllic-stone cottages, golden orchards, and a tight-knit community that seems almost too kind. But the orchard behind the house has rules: Don't pick fruit after dusk. Don't follow voices between the trees. And never, ever eat an apple that falls on its own. Liora Hale survives something she shouldn't have. No one will tell her what happened. Not her doctors. Not her family. Not even the police report-which ends mid-sentence. She's sent to Clare Brooke View, a near-forgotten town where people go when their lives... stop making sense. And here's the first rule of the town: If something tries to finish your sentence-don't let it. Clare Brooke View, a decaying settlement built around a ruined cathedral and a forest that grows black thorns instead of trees. The villagers worship something they call The Saint in the Roots - a god that grants protection in exchange for devotion. And once a year, the Saint chooses a bride. This year... It chooses Liora. The "Saint" worshipped in Clare Brooke View isn't a saint at all. It is a forgotten fragment of the Moirai - the ancient trio who control death: Clotho(creation) Lachesis(life span) Atropos(death) Long ago, witches tried to steal control over fate itself. They succeeded... partially. They trapped a splinter of the Fates beneath the Vale. But fate cannot be contained without consequence. The Thorn Saint/The Unfinished God = a corrupted fragment of the Moirai, twisted into something singular and unstable Instead of weaving fate, it loops it It cannot create new destinies-only repeat and distort existing ones. And Liora? She is a broken thread that refuses to be cut.
