Vivienne Sloane spends her days fixing other people's stories to make them cohesive. However, her life is not as defined as those of her clients. As a fierce, spontaneous woman of impulse, she also finds enjoyment in the hectic lifestyle of contemporary London... her heart insists on lingering somewhere or on a man who seems far more at home in history than in the present.

Theo Sinclair is an aloof genius with a mysterious persona; as a museum curator, he possesses a deeper connection to antiquity than the majority of the world's population possesses and is drawn toward history with an unexplained passion.

But one fateful evening in the museum after business hours, everything changes.
