Alec Bane-Light

Alec Bane-Light is a 300 year old warlock, who has been married to Magnus Bane-Light for about 200 of those. His warlocks' mark is a pair of beautiful snowy owl wings. Like his husband, he knows who sired him, but they have nothing to do with their sperm donors.

Instead, they focus their energy on helping their community of warlocks, helping newly turned/found Downworlders who need a safe space to learn and flourish.

With Clary Fairchild, the young Shadowhunter, whom Magnus and Alec have both raised alongside Luke, because of how much Jocelyn used to travel to look for Jonathan, now embracing her heritage, Magnus and Alec are spending a fair bit of time at the New York Institute.

They want to make sure their daughter will be okay, that she will thrive and be protected. She's the first child they've truly raised, and they feel really quite protective of her. Luke is also a regular guest at the Institute, also wanting to protect his daughter.

Kieran Lightwood is the older brother of Isabelle Lightwood, the Parabatai of Jace Herondale, and all three are the older siblings of Max Lightwood. Kieran is fiercely protective of his Parabatai, little sister and baby brother.

He's also gay, something his brothers, sister, mother and grandmother know about, but other Shadowhunters do not, mostly because of their prejudices. He'd rather stay quiet about his sexuality and keep out of the spotlight, for now.

When Clary Fairchild arrives at the Institute, turning his world upside down, bringing along two devastatingly handsome warlocks, Kieran has a decision to make; keep up his facade of being straight, or chase his own happiness.

He must also continue his Shadowhunting duties, especially with Valentine still out there and on the prowl. With Jocelyn held hostage as well, and Clary being absolutely desperate to find her mother, despite barely knowing her at all, Kieran's at a crossroads.
