Jonathan Fairchilds' Redemption

Riley Sandton is an ftm mundane whose blood relations never wanted, nor accepted him. He lives every single day in fear, trying to maintain a straight A average at school, keep up with his job and volunteer work, and keep the house tidy so he doesn't get hurt.

Every night, he dreams of a boy in a land of fire, being burnt for tiny mistakes, much like him. He always wonders who this boy is, and why he can see them.

However, the night of his eighteenth birthday, after finding out he's to be married to someone his blood relations want, he argues about it, and runs away, with nothing more than the clothes on his back and his beloved stuffed leopard.

Jonathan Fairchild has recently escaped from Edom, through the Seelie realm. His many injuries have healed, and he gained his wings, all before meeting his baby sister and her companions.

He dreamed about his baby sister and their mother on the rare occasions he was allowed to sleep. Then, a few days before his escape, he dreams of a boy, hiding, trying to survive, just like him.

The night of Rileys' eighteenth birthday, he crash lands in Central Park, close to where Riley is. The two of them meet and get to talking, while Jonathan weaves his cocoon. Jonathan asks Riley to protect him, alongside the Seelie Queen.

The Seelie Queen, Amara, arrives not long after Jonathan finishes his cocoon, having felt drawn to the younger man when he escaped Edom. Riley is initially very protective of Jonathan. But after Amara explains her plan to protect Jonathan during his transformation and help him control his powers, Riley relaxes.

When Clary, Jace, Alec, Izzy and Luke arrive in the Seelie realm, about a month later, to ask Amara and Jonathan for help capturing Valentine and freeing Jocelyn, they are shocked to see Riley sitting between the thrones, green eyes, coloured streaks in his hair, and faerie points on his ears.
