After the creator of the universe banned any interaction between celestial and terrestrial life for millennia, Lucifer has been bound to his place in hell, only able to observe human life from a distance while punishing damned souls once life has ended. That is, until he is unable to stop himself from breaking God's foremost rule and entering the earth to save a human from death.
When Lucifer decides to stay on earth after saving Laila, they begin to grow closer, but interrupting human life and defying a death sentence comes with consequences for both of them that Lucifer never predicted, consequences that could ripple throughout the earth, leading to the complete destruction of mortal life.
As Laila realises the impact of her prolonged life, she begins to reconsider whether being given a second chance was a blessing or a curse and once again, Lucifer is faced with a choice of whether to defy his father in order to save his first love or finally redeem himself as an archangel and possibly return to his place in heaven.
