Remus Lupin always feared love. Thats why he had spent his whole life giving his heart to fictional characters. They couldn't leave him. He couldn't hurt them or ruin their lives. That was the perfect arrangement.
Except magic has it's ways. And what Muggles Know as "Quantum Physics", "Quantum Mechanics" and the "Many Wolds Theories" are just their way to try to explain... magic.
That's exacly how one day Remus finds himself face to face with Mary, his biggest fictional crush, who came from a world where magic isn't real... Neither is he. To her, he's just a fictional character too.
