The Dragon Rider's Mark
Welcome to the Pyre Academy. Bond with a dragon, or burn.
Twenty-year-old Elara isn't a warrior. She's a thief from the slums, forced to infiltrate the deadly military academy of the Dragon Riders to steal a magical artifact that can save her dying sister. Her plan is simple: get in, steal the artifact, and escape before the brutal "Threshing"-the day the dragons choose their riders and incinerate the weak.
But Elara's plan goes up in flames when she is pushed into the center of the arena.
She expects to be burned to ash. Instead, the ground shakes.
Aric, the Obsidian King-the largest, most ancient, and most terrifying dragon in the empire-descends from the sky. He hasn't chosen a rider in five hundred years. He despises humans. Yet, in front of the entire shocked academy, he claims the fragile, terrified thief as his own.
But the bond isn't the only shock. Aric doesn't just exist as a colossal beast. He can shift into a man-a ruthlessly cold, devastatingly handsome warlord with eyes like liquid fire.
As Elara is thrust into the elite, cutthroat world of the Riders, she becomes a massive target. But her enemies are about to learn a terrifying lesson: The Obsidian King is fiercely possessive of his new rider. And Aric will gladly burn the entire academy to the ground if anyone dares to touch her.
