Southfield High was like any other ordinary school. So why was it like Hell for Max Rivas?

Not only was it the only high school in the city, but it also housed the world's greatest number of social cliques and classes. You would have the rich kids who ran the place, the middle-income ones who stayed out of the way, and those from the slums -- loners, freaks, and basically every popular student's favorite punching bag.

Max belonged to that last group.

All his life, Max had only known survival. Whether it be finding ways to scrounge for money in his rundown house, or walk paranoid in the halls of school. It had gotten worse during high school -- until his senior year. When a new factor entered his life.

Asher Grayson. The boy who made it worse before he could make it better.

Everyone's dream friend, boyfriend, and basically Southfield High's resident pretty boy, Max found himself Asher's sole victim. But what if this one was different? What if, this time, he found an interest in his aggressor? And surprisingly so, what if those thoughts were reciprocated?

Max had always thought lowly of those living the upper class lives. The ones who'd sneer down at him as they walked by.

So why was this Hell suddenly not so bad when his life was turned upside down by the one he least expected?
