Chains of the falling crown

Princess Anastasia of the Vespera Kingdom survives a brutal massacre on her 20th birthday, where her parents-the king and queen-are murdered. She is captured, enslaved, and taken to the kingdom of Lunaris, where she is later sold at an auction.
She is bought by King Arthur Alexandra of Avalonara, a powerful and feared ruler who initially treats her as a slave in his palace. Over time, however, he becomes emotionally drawn to her, and a complex relationship forms between them built on trauma, power, trust, and slowly developing love.
As their bond deepens, political unrest grows in the kingdom. Arthur's authority is challenged, and Anastasia becomes a central figure in shifting power dynamics. Eventually, they have children-Eryon and Lyra-who inherit opposing philosophies of leadership: Eryon believes in strict order and centralized control, while Lyra believes in freedom, adaptability, and decentralized governance.
Their opposing ideologies split the kingdom into two functioning systems within one realm, leading Avalonara to transform from a single unified empire into a divided but stable civilization of coexisting political realities.
Arthur eventually steps back from absolute rule, and Anastasia stands with him as they witness the legacy of their choices unfold. The story ends with Avalonara no longer being one kingdom, but a shared origin of two different ways of governing life-order and freedom-both surviving in balance, though forever different.
