Y/N Y/L/N has lived in the Muggle world her whole life alongside her best friend, Miley Crawford. They've been inseparable since birth; their mothers were best friends in school and their fathers played on the same football team.

One night, during a routine sleepover, the girls were awakened by a persistent pecking at the window. To their shock, a large owl waited outside, clutching two letters in its talons. Y/N, being the braver of the two, carefully untied the parchment. One was addressed to her; the other to Miley.

Now, four years later, they are entering their fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Both were sorted into Ravenclaw-a massive relief for them both. While the rest of the school gossips about Harry Potter's rivalry with Malfoy or follows the exploits of the "Golden Trio," Y/N and Miley stay in their own world, studying hard and remaining Professor McGonagall's favorites.

But Y/N's academic focus is a shield. Back home, her life is difficult, and she uses perfectionism to make people like her. While she's grown sharp-tongued to protect herself from the anxiety of her home life, she remains practically invisible to her peers.
