Before Maya "the Scarlet," before Shanks ever became a father... There was her, his first love.

Red-Haired Shanks once discovered a peaceful island that felt almost like a dream, hidden among cherry blossom trees, sacred shrines, and the ancient traditions of a forgotten kingdom. There, he met a princess with a katana, as proud as she was dangerous. She refused to be protected, but he refused to look away.

He fell in love at first sight.

She pretended she felt nothing.

But between a lantern-lit alley, a quiet zen garden, teasing words, secrets, battles, and silences too heavy to ignore, their bond grew into something far too intense to deny. She pushed him away as much as she pulled him in. He smiled too much, she threatened too quickly. They challenged each other, searched for each other, wounded each other sometimes... without realizing that their story would one day change far more than their own destinies.

Their love became the first spark of a legacy that would one day give birth to their daughter because before Shanks became Maya's father, he was a man in love. In love with the woman who would become the mother of his child, Maya's mother.
