**It begins as a hound's unrelenting loyalty and willingness to submit all the way to the freedom of air.** With the rot and decay that comes with mold and mildew, then comes the ocean, calm at the surface but deep below is hectic. Just above the surface, fires rage on, everlasting and cruel. All the way to a boulder, sitting still and never changing as the world around it does. Only after all of the struggles faced, may the narrator become free and light, like the breeze between trees, the gale just above the water, the breath an animal takes, the wind that blows out the wildfire, the gust that weathers even the most still rock.
Author's Note:
Since this is both my first collection of poems and my first "story" here on Wattpad, there's not guaranteed to be high-quality poems. Especially considering how I've only recently started writing poems seriously and not just for an assignment. (roughly having spanned over a week so far as I'm writing this.) This collection goes from desperate love and dependency, self-blame and guilt, overwhelming emotions, relentless anger, apathy, all the way to self-acceptance.
