A bad wolf at Nevermore - 13 years later

Thirteen years pass.

Aeryn is thirty-three. Isadora is in her mid-forties. They are married and they have twins: Nora, quiet and perceptive and entirely her mother's daughter, and Finn, who treats rules as suggestions and arrived in the world with a point he has been making ever since. The estate is home now.

Greg and Clara live three kilometres down the road. Their children, Maia and Theo, half vampire and half witch and the best and worst possible collaborators for Finn have grown up between the two houses.

Weems runs the Nevermore Academy. The company has expanded into something that surprises even Aeryn sometimes.

The covenant has held. Keller takes blood twice a week now, because the Crone's need has escalated beyond what the original agreement anticipated. Keller has told Aeryn, quietly and clinically, that her body will not sustain the current pace indefinitely.

Aeryn has not told Isadora what Keller said. She knows what she is doing. She has the name for it. She learned the pattern from the inside, from Arthur, and she promised herself she would never become it.

And then the Crone dies and the new Crone will come for their kids now.

Can they protect their kids? What will happen to their relationship? Will their love survive?
