Time: One month after the Serpent's Awakening

He remembered fire.

Not the warmth of it-but the cold it left behind once it faded.

The boy who had been Kaelen Marrow stood barefoot in the obsidian chamber, eyes closed. His breath fogged in the air, though no wind stirred.

Magic had begun to seep back in.

And so had memory.

He was supposed to be the first-the chosen vessel, the one to wield the Dreamseer's gift and bend it to the Council's will.

But then Tom Riddle had changed the game.

Kaelen had watched it all: the silver flame, the defiance of prophecy, the kiss in the chamber. And he had felt it-the way the world shifted, choosing a new story.

But what the world forgets is this:

Every prophecy has a mirror.
And every gift has a cost.

Kaelen stepped forward, placing his palm to the black wall. It melted like ink.

Behind it stood a row of statues-once-men, once-girls, each holding a mask and wand.

"They silenced me," he whispered. "But I listened anyway."

A figure stepped from the shadows behind him. Younger. Smaller. A girl with dark braids and one green eye.

"I found them," she said softly. "The Echoes. They're waking up."

Kaelen turned.

"They'll remember the taste of prophecy. And they'll come."

Hope jolted upright in her bed in the Ravenclaw Tower, breathless.

Tom stirred beside her.

"Another vision?" he murmured.

She nodded. "Not a vision. A warning."

Tom's eyes sharpened instantly. "From where?"

She looked out the window, where the moon was bleeding red across the sky.

"From the twin you left behind."
