I wanted to look at _Captain Jeon ; since 1894_ from the other side of the letter. The original shows one person waiting, holding onto a promise made in 1894. But what about the person who sent that letter? What did they feel when they chose to stay behind, and what did it cost them to let go?

This story is for the part of memory that doesn't get a voice. Jungkook's flashbacks aren't just a mystery to solve - they're grief, guilt, and love that never got closed out. Writing it let me explore how remembering can be heavy, but forgetting isn't the only way to be free.
