Juniper Evergreen is a village girl who, in her early childhood, lost her fire magic under circumstances no healer could explain. Years passed in quiet obscurity-until, without warning, her powers return. Yet what awakens within her is not what she once knew. Alongside her flame stirs the Dragon's Maw, an ancient force said to dwell only within the bloodline of the First Fire Lord. Believing herself destined for a simple, unremarkable life, Juniper instead finds herself drawn into a path she neither chose nor understands, one that will test the limits of her will and reshape her fate.

At the core of the kingdom of Haewyr, King Theron the Second sits upon a throne won through blood and burden. Crowned at eighteen, he inherited not only a fractured realm, but the ghosts of a fallen family. Though many speak of him as cold and unyielding, his rule is marked by a stern and unrelenting justice, forged to keep his kingdom whole. Yet peace has begun to fracture.

Strange attacks now unsettle Haewyr's borders, and unrest brews among those who still refuse to name him king. As Theron struggles to secure his reign, whispers of something older than the kingdom itself begin to surface-an old darkness that has never truly left, only waited.
