Everyone assumes I got my first movie because of my parents. And honestly, I can't blame them. They're famous, I'm their daughter, and people like a clean answer.

But Charlotte didn't care who my parents were. She was the director everyone warned me about. Cold. Blunt. Impossible to impress. The kind of woman who could look at you once and make you wish she hadn't.

I didn't think she would, but she picked my script. I thought working with her would be the hard part.

She was there to direct my movie. That was the whole thing. That was supposed to be all it was.
