The Delinquent King of Kurokawa High
Itsuki Sugiyama is the most feared student at Kurokawa High - loud, foul-mouthed, and permanently scowling, with a spiked black hair, piercings, and a physique that looks like it was sculpted out of pure aggression. He yells at his friends, sleeps through every class, and has a disciplinary file thicker than most textbooks. Every girl in school is obsessed with him. He couldn't care less.

But underneath the bat-carrying, insult-slinging exterior is a guy with an unshakable code: you don't mess with people who can't defend themselves. When a group from a rival school starts shaking down Kurokawa's first-years, Itsuki handles it the only way he knows how - loudly, violently, and without asking permission. At home, though, the Delinquent King meets his match in the one opponent he can't intimidate: his five-foot-two mother and her never-ending chore list.

Then a chance encounter at a Sunday arcade changes the rhythm. A girl named Aoi Nakamura slips on spilled melon soda and crashes straight into his chest - and into his carefully guarded world. She's flustered, warm, and sends four apologetic text messages in a row. He responds with five words and tells himself it doesn't matter.
