(Y/N) Grimes never thought of herself as the "survival" type. The closest she ever got was getting lost in the woods with Rick as kids while they had been camping with their parents - and even then, Rick was the one to take charge. She had a simple, happy life as a school nurse. She had best friends; she had her family; she had her routine. Life was simple. Everyone's life was.

But that all changed once the dead started rising.

Thrown into an apocalyptic hell, (Y/N) finds herself in a never ending, desperate battle for survival, and she learns quickly that trust is something rare and loss is inevitable in this new, unforgiving world.

As Rick Grime's younger, adopted sister, she had spent most of her life being protected by him and doubted by others in her abilities. But forced to become stronger, she'll do whatever it takes to keep those she loves alive.

But that's easier said than done.

Daryl Dixon - a rough, fiercely loyal and distant man - learned before the dead even walked that people are dangerous, and they'll exploit any weakness they can find. He'd always kept people at an arm's length, but (Y/N) slowly breaks his walls down- not without great effort, and certainly not without resistance from him.

Through heartbreak, war, loss, what starts off as uncertainty and apprehensive teamwork will solidify and forge an unbreakable bond between the two.

But in a world where tomorrow is never promised, love may be the most dangerous thing of all.
