Max hates human

After escaping the lab that destroyed his family, he and his brother Xavier dedicate their lives to revenge, hunting down the scientists responsible for years of torture and experiments. But when their next target turns out to be almost impossible to reach, Max is forced into the last place he ever wanted to be:
school.

His mission is simple - get close to Lily Smith, the daughter of the scientists they plan to kill.

But Lily isn't what he expected.

As Max slowly becomes tangled in friendships, secrets and emotions he was never meant to feel, strange cracks begin to form in the mission. Emma seems to know more than she admits. The lab is hiding darker secrets than Max imagined. And the closer he gets to Lily, the harder it becomes to decide who the real enemy is.

Because in a world built on lies, even monsters can start to feel human.
