A/N: This story is a spin-off set in the same universe as "The Romanian border" which was the first story, but it can be read as a standalone story with no prior knowledge required. Though I'd recommend to read the first one because there will be subtle connections or recurring characters.

A stolen serum. Failed experiments. Bodies mutating into monsters. Beneath the surface of Eastern Europe, Echelon Dynamics hides a violent world of covert operations, human weapon programs, and unstable super-soldiers created through the Prototype Zeta project. One year after the collapse of Project Falcrum, a mysterious figure known only as Ghost begins tearing through Echelon's network from the shadows. Apex, one of the surviving Prototype Zeta subject still living with the consequences of the program, Leonid Maksymenko, a Ukrainian military intelligence operative tracking Echelon's internal decay, and Roman Raskolnikov, a mafia lord tied to its criminal logistics chain, are drawn back into a conspiracy that never truly ended, only evolved.
