She has to return to school like nothing ever happened while being harassed by bullies who don't know when to quit, teachers who don't help her when her grades slip, and the strange boy from California seeming to be attached by the hip with her.
She learns to navigate puberty, her traumatic experiences, and this new sudden interest that this boy has for her. But everything seems to be against her, no matter what good things happen in her life. Until then, she impatiently waits for the day that she gets to fix herself.
