I never thought I would be stuck in this situation. Caught between a bookcase and a door that had been ripped of its hinges; in a city that was being invaded on a mission that is doomed to fail. It's been a funny sort of day. My mother is no-where in sight and I am on a floating island hundreds of feet above the cloud layer. Others may call it an adventure. I call it a nightmare. There's no escaping my fate. These are my final hours.

Broken

I close my eyes. I'm not going to die. I'm not going to die. Suddenly, I feel my stomach drop and my head start to spin. I try to scream, but nothing comes out. I try to breathe, but my mouth is dry. The sickening feeling continues for about a minute, then it stops. I open my eyes; I'm not dead... Yet.
