Panopticon (eternal debate)

In the near future. Most of the human race had suddenly been cursed to have their intelligence gone. However a small group of people had somehow managed to keep their full intelligence and cognitive ability. As an attempt to keep the now mindless masses happy while also preventing their descent into insanity. They had created an international game where they debate about random topics. Will the last bastion of intelligence manage to bring back the minds of the human race? Or will even the smart descend into mindless zombies?
