Nokoribi

Set in 2017, Nokoribi follows Alex Ishida, a 20 year old photography student leaving Chicago behind to begin a new life in Tokyo, Japan.

After years of saving money and preparing for the move, Alex enrolls in a photography and media program in Shibuya hoping to reconnect with his mother's roots and leave behind the cold, stagnant life he grew up with in Illinois.

At first, Tokyo feels exciting. The lights. The crowds. The feeling of finally being somewhere new.

But not long after arriving, strange individuals begin appearing around him far too often to be coincidence.

Watching him.

At first, Alex convinces himself he's overthinking things.

Then one night, he disappears.

Kidnapped and forced into a trafficking ring somewhere in Tokyo, Alex is suddenly thrown into a world of isolation, fear, and violence in a country he barely knows how to navigate alone.

Whether or not he can survive this, is up to him.
