Celeste Johnson does not believe in magic. Unfortunately, her grandmother's strange glass artifact disagrees. When the pale relic begins warming in her hand and answering in impossible marks, Celeste assumes there has to be an explanation. A prank. A hallucination. A phenomenon she has not classified yet. Then someone answers back. In another world, Cassian Vaeloir Aurelian finds the artifact's broken twin beneath the ruins of Ashveil, buried among records no one was meant to read. He thinks he is studying ancient resonance, dimensional instability, and a dead civilization's impossible technology. Instead, he finds Celeste. Their connection begins with marks. Then words. Then warmth. Across Chicago kitchens, ruined archives, court secrets, and moonlit palace studies, research becomes habit, habit becomes longing, and longing becomes the one danger neither of them can calculate. The records say the artifact was built to divide worlds. The artifact seems to remember otherwise.

Riley Renner was supposed to spend the weekend teaching teenagers how to survive in the woods. Instead, she wakes in a world ruled by beastmen. In this land, females are treasured, fought over, and marked by the males they choose to mate with. Wolves walk beside towering tigers, serpents lurk in the shadows of ancient tribes, and powerful males bear the stripes that define their strength. But Riley is different. She smells of no beast. Knows none of their customs. And worst of all for the males around her-she treats them with a kindness they have never known.
