Short summary:
Sonic can't handle how uneventful the day has been and ends up subconsciously going to Hill Top Zone where a certain ebony hedgehog will join him on a particularly quiet night.
This story can be seen as them being rivals, friends, or even romantic interest. You choose how you see it, though the intention was hinting at Sonadow vibes.
