The Pearls Beneath

There are bodies buried beneath the tide.
Along the southeastern coast of Texas, people disappear every year. Children swept away by currents. Tourists lost to storms. Drifters who vanish without a trace.

The sea always takes its due.

The Diver spends his free time searching the ocean floor for pearls with saltwater in his veins and strange gaps in his memory. He works as the live-in handyman of an aging apartment complex run by the warm and beloved Granny Ellis-a woman who took him in when no one else would.

But something beneath the waves is calling to him.

Faces appear in the water, bloody visions haunt his sleep and a stranger is skulking in the shadows.
