What We Remember
an adventurous romantasy about love, memory, distance, grief, and the things people are wiling to do to preserve themselves.
******
Some places are held together by stone. Others by memory.
The floating islands are drifting apart.
As ancient traditions begin disappearing with them, Cultural Archivist Elowen Alder is sent across the skies to preserve what remains before entire cultures are lost forever. Accompanied by a wandering guide who seems to know every island by heart but shares almost nothing about himself, Elowen begins collecting forgotten songs, fading festivals, and stories no two islands remember the same way.
Until the stories begin pointing toward something impossible.
Someone is searching her journals.
Witnesses disappear before she can question them.
And the closer Elowen comes to uncovering the truth, the more desperate someone becomes to stop her.
Because some histories were forgotten.
Others were buried.
And if Elowen reaches the Forgotten Isle, an entire world will be forced to remember what it chose to leave behind.
With danger closing in and trust becoming harder to give, Elowen must decide whether the quiet guide beside her is the only person she can rely on... or just another story waiting to betray her.
