The Vampire's Servant

After losing a drunken bet with friends, a young man named Alex heads to an old mansion that's rumored to house vampires. Those rumors turn out to be far more truthful than he'd realized, and Madame Lilith Maravalle, the vampire residing within, makes a special offer. Soon, he finds himself entangled within a world he didn't know existed, characterized by archaic fashions, noble houses, and struggles for power. To further complicate matters are his burgeoning feelings of affection for the mysterious Madame Lilith.

Author's Note: this is a rewrite of an older story of mine titled The Vampire and The Traveler. I have come to dislike the old story for various reasons, but my affection for the characters themselves has remained so I felt compelled to do a complete overhaul. I hope this will become the definitive version.
