Lucy Chen is a teacher. Being a teacher has been her dream job since she was very young. Her classroom is her safe space, and she cares deeply for all of her students-especially Tim Bradford's daughter, who quickly became one of her favourites. Lucy had heard plenty about the intimidating, overworked single dad from Genny, but she has never actually met him. Lucy Chen and Genny Bradford have become quite good friends regarding all of this.
Tim Bradford never expected to be raising his daughter - Maeve Bradford - alone. After his marriage with Isabel ruptured due to her drug addiction, Tim had to fight a tough and challenging situation to gain full custody of his little girl. Tim stayed determined to give Maeve the stable life she deserved. Between long shifts as sergeant at mid-Wilshire station and the constant pressure of playing both roles as mother and father, Tim barely had time to breathe, relying intensely on his sister, Genny, to help him out with school runs.
