✨Sometimes the hardest part of surviving a fire is deciding what to rebuild.✨ ✨Five months after walking away from the shattered remains of her marriage, Machelle Richards is finally learning how to breathe again. In a brand-new home bought with the ashes of her old life, the panic is fading, her clinic is thriving, and interacting with her estranged husband is no longer a daily battleground. But physical distance hasn't erased the one terrifying truth she can't outrun: she still loves him. Brian Richards knows he broke their world, and he is spending every single day paying for it. Exiled to a downtown penthouse, the high-powered litigator has permanently traded his toxic ego for a grueling, relentless pursuit of redemption. He is a profoundly changed man with a single, unyielding mission: to win back his wife. He doesn't want his old life back; he is fighting to earn a place in her new one. Though they live under separate roofs, the devastating chemistry between them is as dangerously potent as ever. But love was never their problem. Trust was. As Brian meticulously proves his devotion across the boundary lines Machelle has drawn, she must face her deepest fear: Can she invite the man who burned her world to the ground to help her build a new sanctuary? Or will the fear of a second fire keep them apart forever?✨

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
