"Hail HYDRA!" is all that Tess Pierce has ever known for the twenty four years of her life. Her father is an influential member of the evil organization that she has been raised to dedicate herself and her loyalties to. Never once has she questioned. Never once has she disobeyed. But all of that changes when her father's human weapon bursts into her life with gunshots and explosions. She finally starts to see how inhumane everything HYDRA does and stands for is. She is forced to decide what is right and what is wrong, throwing her world upside down as all she has ever known and believed shatters at her feet. In the midst of discovering shocking secrets about her past, falling deeply in love with someone she never expected, and facing impending global mass murder, she will have to make a choice that raises one of the most difficult questions of all: does loyalty to family transcend all else, even if it means doing what is morally wrong?

The sterile white walls of the Hydra facility loomed over her, cold and unforgiving, much like the organization itself. She had known no other life-no sunny days in the park or laughter with friends-only the relentless training and the sharp, commanding voice of the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes. At eighteen years old, she was a product of their twisted experiments, molded into one of Hydra's most valuable assets. Her codename, "Viper," was whispered among the agents and scientists with a mix of fear and admiration. Viper's childhood was steeped in shadow and silence. As a child, she was often the subject of experiments, her genetic makeup altered to enhance her agility, strength, and combat skills. The scientists viewed her as a weapon, a means to an end, but Bucky saw her as something more. He had been her trainer, her protector, and, in a way, her father. With every lesson, every sparring match, he had instilled in her not just skills, but values-lessons of loyalty, resilience, and the importance of family, albeit a family forged in the fires of conflict. Their bond was complex. Bucky, with his haunted past and unyielding loyalty, had taken it upon himself to shield her from the darker aspects of Hydra. Despite the pain he had endured, he was fiercely protective of Viper, always ensuring she stayed out of the line of fire. He often spoke to her in Russian, his voice low and reassuring, a language that felt as familiar as the training routines he enforced.

{DISCONTINUED} The Winter Soldier has just escaped Hydra's custody, and fully intends to keep it that way. Shield is just as bad. Shield may even be the same. So he runs. He isn't sure why. He isn't even sure who he is, but he knows he can't go back. He runs until he can find someone to help him get away, whether they're willing to or not. As far as I'm concerned, I just wanted to see my parents for the weekend. I'm in college, and a rather unfortunate traffic light put me face to face with one of the most dangerous people on the planet. At least things can't get any worse. Right? Wrong.
