Ash Batra is going through the worst break-up of his life. His apartment is a mess but his life is a bigger mess. To top it off, his landlord is breathing down his neck for a rental agreement renewal or else he will be kicked out. Moving houses is the last thing he needs so he decides to accept the first candidate he gets.
What he does not know is that the person on the other side is an uptight, petty, vindictive little neat freak.
